Children In Worship – 5/3/20

Jane Coles was kind enough to come in and film a few scenes from Children In Worship. You watch them with your children and talk about them afterward. Each scene ends with a series of “I wonder…” statements. You can pause after each one and you’ll be amazed at what your kids have to say.

If the embeded video doesn’t work for you there is a link below. Enjoy!

Online Giving.

There are now two ways to give online to St. Croix Reformed Church.

Network for Good has been available to members and friends of SCRC for a while and some of you have been using it. If you’ve signed up already, feel free to keep donating through the links on the website homepage.

Tithe.ly is a new opportunity to give online. The Reformed Church in America created a partnership with Tithe.ly for special rates, so giving costs less than Network for Good. In addition to being cheaper, it’s more convenient.

1.) Click the “Give” tab at the top of stcroixreformed.org

2.) Click the “Tithe.ly” link on the homepage of stcroixreformed.org

3.) Download the green Tithe.ly app on your smartphone. Search for St. Croix Reformed Church and give that way.

The RCA’s partnership with tithe.ly will give us access to other mobile opportunities in the future. Stay tuned!

Staying Connected – 3/24/20

Below are a few reminders that will help you stay connected during this time of physical distance and isolation.

Compassion In Action

While we have all been advised to stay indoors as much as possible, there are still reasons we need to go out. Groceries, medication, bills, banks, etc. Some members of SCRC have volunteered to go out on behalf of those who are more susceptible to the impact of the virus. If you would like someone to run errands for you, please contact Pastor Peter (616-450-9774) and he will arrange it for you.

Sunday Worship

This Sunday we continued to explore the theme of compassion as we “Listen for God’s P.U.L.S.E.” The “U” stands for understanding empathically. You can listen to the songs, prayers, Scripture, and sermon from this week here.

Dwell Digital

If you would like some Biblical resources to have some spiritual conversations with your children, we have permission to make our Dwell curriculum available to parents. All you have to do is email Pastor Peter (petertewinkle@gmail.com) and he will add you to the list. You will receive an invitation and it will give you access to the various age groups and lessons.

Hand 2 Hand

Please remember that SCRC has established a Hand 2 Hand Fund. Through the generous support of congregation and community members alike, we are able to lend a hand to those struggling to make ends meet or get through a difficult time. We expect more people will fall into these categories over the next few weeks. This is how we can reach out.

Virtual Bible Study

Our text for this Sunday is Luke 19:1-10. It’s the familiar story of Zacchaeus and the sycamore tree. We’ll be using it to explore the benefits of “loving with connection.” Please join the “St. Croix Reformed Church – Virtual Bible Study” Facebook group and participate in the discussion!
